She loved it. You could tell that she thought she was one of the BIG Girlies now.
Monday morning we all went for a hike. We started on the logging road that runs further up the Hill, behind the House
and then continued down the path M has mowed on our property line with the brush mower. It makes a very nice hiking trail. Like a tunnel through the trees.
The blue blaze on the trees is roughly the property line.
A little clearing that the Girlies were thrilled with. Girlie#1 called it a meadow full of dead flowers. Of course, it was a meadow full of dead flowers with horses running through it. Don't you see them?
Girlie#2 led the way the whole hike. In Baby Girlie speak, Girlie#2 is RoRo,
Girlie#1 is E-e
and this is ChuChu.
Picking up rocks. Little bitty rocks. She thought they were treasures. Watching her do this brought tears to my eyes because her Mama used to do the same thing when she was this size and bring them to me.
Just like this, clutched tight
Just like this, clutched tight
in sweet little baby hands.
E-e used to lead the way when we hiked. If you notice, she is never very far from ChuChu now. She is constantly the Big Sister.
I think that is partly why this first visit went so well, with no tears at all for Mama, she had Big Sister right there.
Another photo shoot. Besides, Meme we needed a break.
RoRo taking us home.
Just to give you some perspective on time. This hike was before 8:00am.
We played outside all morning. It was just such a beautiful day. ChuChu insisted she needed to wear her boots to play in the sandbox. Of course when they filled with sand she had to take them off.
Her boots are just too cute!
The Big Girlies flew wooden gliders that Papa had brought home for them. From their favorite spot, the dirt mound.
These simple wooden glider airplanes like my brothers used to play with when we were kids entertained the Big Girlies for a couple of hours.
ChuChu thought they were amazing.
But still not as much fun as bringing Meme handfuls of sparkly sand.
Such a wonderful treasure.
Not the sand.
My morning in the sunshine with them.
