Here is a daylight view of the night time shot in my last post.
We learned from the Forest Ranger that this sloping hill ridge is called Goblin's Knob. As in, the fire has been isolated to Goblin's Knob.
That amused me for some reason. I kind of wish it was Gnome's Knob. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it though, does it? And Ganomey's Knob wouldn't make sense to anyone around here. For some reason that convoluted chain of thoughts reminded me of these little guys.
My little Ganomies are teeny, less than 2 inches high or long as the case may be. They are plant sitters and sit tucked in among the leaves on the edge of the pots on my kitchen window sill. I got them at the Dollar Store because they made me happy
and remember this with a smile.
Just imagine a red gnome hat on this guy. Can't you see why he was our Ganomey?
The summer version of the Ganomey hat. With GrandGirlie#1 at age 1 1/2. It was 4th of July and he always dressed for the occasion. So did she at that time. Because her Meme always made her something to wear. So she had no choice.
By the way the Forest Service also says my hills are really ridges.
I knew that.
But...Misty ridges? Foggy ridges? Clouds on the ridge?
The House on the Ridge?
Really? Just not the same. Right?
